Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
This class is suitable for doctors, nurses, caregivers and other professionals working in the health-care industry. The course covers adult, infant and child CPR (one and two rescuer), use of a bag mask, foreign-body airway obstruction for conscious and unconscious victims and automated external defibrillation.
This course is 3 hours in length. Each participant who completes the class must pass a skills check off as well as a 25 question written exam. Upon successful completion, a Healthcare Provider Card will be issued.
Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED
Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, AED teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. This course is suitable for daycare providers (this course meets NC state requirements for daycare providers), business office workers, restaurant employees, stay-at-home mom groups and anyone who wishes to learn life-saving CPR.
Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use. Upon successful completion, a Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, AED card will be issued.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
ACLS is an advanced course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
Students must purchase the AHA ACLS Provider Manual prior to the class date. Students must be familiar with ECG Rhythm recognition, pharmacology standards, and the ACLS algorithms found in the provider manual prior to attending class.
PALS HeartCode Online (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
HeartCode PALS Part 1 is a web-based, self-directed program that teaches healthcare providers knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children.
This program uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. In this environment, students apply their knowledge to real-time decision-making and skills development. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each simulation to facilitate learning about pediatric advanced life support.
BLS Instructor Course
The BLS Instructor Course is a program designed to prepare American Heart Association (AHA) instructors to disseminate the science, skills, and philosophy of resuscitation programs to participants enrolled in AHA courses. Upon successful completion of this course, Instructors will be able to instruct all AHA BLS courses: Healthcare Provider CPR, Heartsaver CPR/AED, Family & Friends CPR, CPR in Schools, First Aid, & Pediatric First Aid. This is a two part course, including the online "Core Instructor Course” and a one day classroom session with our staff. You must provide proof of a current BLS for Healthcare Providers card in order to take this course.

The Heartsaver® CPR & AED Online Part 1 Course offers a flexible, time-saving option for workplaces that need to provide safety training. The complete course is delivered in three parts. Part 1 delivers the cognitive learning through Web-based, self-paced modules. Parts 2 and 3 require students to meet with an American Heart Association Instructor to complete a hands-on skills practice session and a skills test. Upon successful completion of all three parts students receive a course completion card valid for two years.This course requires in person skills check off which is included in your price.

Blood Borne Pathogens
This course is suitable for child care workers, school personnel, health care workers, occupational health, maintenance workers, tattoo artists, security, state correctional facilities, health and fitness staff and any facility wishing to learn to protect themselves and others. The Blood Borne Pathogen course meets Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for blood born pathogen training when paired with site specific training. This course lasts for one hour and your certification is given the same day of class.
Stroke Prehospital Care Online
This course is great for family members and friends who want to learn life-saving CPR skills. The class is between 2 and 3 hours.Stroke is the nation’s third-largest cause of death. An effective, time-dependent treatment for acute stroke necessitates the education of all healthcare providers, as well as the general public, about prompt treatment for stroke. The Stroke Prehospital Care Online course is part of the American Heart Association’s eLearning program and is ideal for out-of-hospital medical professionals and emergency medical services personnel in acute medical practice.This course does not require in person skills check off.
Acute Stroke Online
The new Acute Stroke Online course is part of American Heart Association’s eLearning program and is ideal for inhospital, as well as out-of-hospital healthcare providers. This course provides training on the symptoms, diagnosis and management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke and complications of stroke. Acute Stroke Online provides a higher level of information and is geared more for the experienced provider, covering treatment from the field to the emergency department, as well as critical care and rehabilitation.This course does not require in person skills check off.
Stroke Hospital-Based Care Online
To help healthcare professionals work quickly to identify and manage stroke,the American Heart Association developed Stroke Hospital-Based Care Online. This course, ideal for in-hospital healthcare professionals, provides high level information and training on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of stroke, as well as on the complications of stroke.Stroke Hospital-Based Care Online: This course does not require in person skills check off.
Learn:™ Rapid STEMI ID
Thousands of patients with ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) fail to receive critical therapy in a timely fashion, and nearly 30 percent of patients with STEMI do not receive any reperfusion treatment at all. To help address these issues, the American Heart Association has created dynamic online program, Learn:TM Rapid STEMI ID. This self-directed, eLearning course prepares healthcare professionals to evaluate and assess victims with potential symptoms of myocardial infarction, interpret ECGs for signs

Learn: Rhythm Adult is an online, self-directed course designed to introduce healthcare providers to normal cardiac rhythms and prepare them to recognize basic cardiac arrhythmias in clinical practice. ECG recognition is a key skill required to be successful in determining a patient’s condition and knowing which algorithm to apply. This course allows healthcare providers to gain proficiency in ECG rhythm recognition in an effort to provide better patient treatment and save more lives.This course does not require in person skills check off.
